Danish Maritime sets course for growth: the first cohort of the Danish Maritime Growth Program is well underway
In the autumn of 2025, we at Danish Maritime were pleased to launch our new Danish Maritime Growth Program, an ambitious scale-up initiative carried out with support from the Danish Maritime Fund and the Danish Industry Foundation. The program is designed to strengthen Danish companies in their efforts to develop, professionalise and grow their businesses in an international industry that is constantly evolving and characterised by intense competition.
We are now well into the first of three sprints in our inaugural programme. These are concentrated phases, each with its own main focus, and it has been inspiring to follow the energy, curiosity and dedication that the participating companies bring into the process. Although the companies are very different, they share a common ambition to grow and to create value for the maritime sector, both nationally and internationally.
The companies span a wide range, from robotics technology and safety solutions to shipbuilding, propulsion systems and specialised components. What they all have in common is that each contributes to strengthening the maritime value chain and brings innovative solutions into play that can make a real difference for the industry and for Danish business more broadly.
A programme with ambition – and people behind it
The purpose of the Danish Maritime Growth Program is not only to create growth in terms of figures and markets, but also to strengthen the people who drive maritime companies forward. The programme gives participants access to sparring with subject-matter experts who are leaders in their fields, as well as tools and networks that can help them navigate a complex industry and realise their full potential.
Several participants have already shared how the programme provides them with new perspectives on their business, sharpens their strategic focus and opens doors to collaborations they would otherwise not have had access to. This is precisely the kind of development that Danish Maritime seeks to support, both for individual companies and for the maritime sector as a whole, says Jenny Braat, CEO of Danish Maritime:
“We see a clear need to give small and medium-sized maritime companies better opportunities to take root and grow strong, both in the domestic market and internationally. When more companies achieve scale and impact, it benefits not only the Danish economy and employment, but also strengthens Denmark’s international weight in a global industry where technological innovation and the green transition are decisive competitive parameters,” says Jenny Braat.
With the first sprint successfully completed and the second sprint well underway, we look forward to the coming months, during which the companies will continue working on, among other things, commercialisation, scaling and organisational development.
We look forward to following their progress and seeing how each of them will leave their mark on the maritime industry of the future.
We would very much like to support even more companies, and we are therefore now seeking participants for the next round, which will start in September 2026. You can read more about the programme here:
